Collection of three original Prince guitar picks, all personally used by Prince himself. This collection includes two picks with “Love God” printed on them in the style of Prince’s handwriting, one off-white with purple text and one white with black text, and one white embossed with the gold-colored “Love Symbol” Prince used as a name from 1993 to 2000.
The off-white guitar pick with purple text was obtained from Prince at First Avenue (the iconic nightclub featured in Prince’s film “Purple Rain”) on August 3, 1983, at a benefit concert for the Minnesota Dance Theatre. During this performance, Prince debuted many of his 'Purple Rain'-era songs, including 'Purple Rain' itself.
The white guitar pick with black text was obtained from Prince at Paisley Park studios on January 27, 1992, at a private concert following the 1992 Super Bowl in Minneapolis. On this night, Prince recorded the live version of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' that was featured on his album 'The Hits 1.' Future U.S. President Donald Trump attended this concert at Paisley Park, though he and Prince didn’t interact.
The third guitar pick, embossed with the gold 'Love Symbol,' was obtained from Prince at Club West, a nightclub in Las Cruces, New Mexico, during an 'after show' concert on October 30, 1997. This 45-minute set (attended by fewer than 100 people) featured several long jams, including 'Hair' by Larry Graham, who performed with Prince that night. These three guitar picks exhibit excellent signs of use. From the collection of an early Prince insider.
