This tambourine was extensively used by Prince during rehearsals at the famed 'First Avenue' nightclub prior to the 1984-85 Purple Rain tour. It is a dark purple, double-row 10” open-head tambourine, bearing a clear printed “Love God” label on the handle in the style of Prince’s handwriting. This musical instrument was personally gifted by Prince to a technician who worked at First Avenue. It has been a cherished part of a Minneapolis-based collection since 1987. The Prince-used wear on this purple tambourine is absolutely gorgeous. In fine condition.
