American general (1903-1955) best remembered for his command of Merrill's Marauders in the Burma Campaign of World War II. Scarce vintage matte-finish 7.75 x 9.75 photo of Merrill wearing his two-star U.S. Army uniform, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Lorna Johnson, with best wishes, Frank Merrill, Major General, USA.” In fine condition, with old mounting residue on the back.
