Description

Actor, singer, and songwriter (1910-1964) best known as the master of ceremonies for the popular 1950s Walt Disney television series The Mickey Mouse Club. Unique grouping of items sent by Jimmie Dodd to Mouseketeer Johnny Crawford: an ALS signed "Jimmie Dodd," one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, January 25, 1963, in part: "Dear Johnny—Here are the two songs I wrote you about—'Two Hearts (In The Old Oak Tree)' & 'X's (From Down In Texas).' I hope you like them & will record them. Please let me know your reaction"; a rare double-sided Gold Star 45 RPM acetate record featuring both songs; and two photostat copies of Dodd's handwritten sheet music for both songs. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Dodd's own hand.
