Film actress and environmentalist (1913-2006) who is best known for her roles in the films Svengali with John Barrymore, Crime and Punishment with Peter Lorre, and The Black Room with Boris Karloff. Collection of six items signed in ink by classic Hollywood actress Marian Marsh, including: three bank checks from 1936, ranging in size from 6 x 4 to 8.5 x 3.5, each filled out and signed by Marsh; an IOU document issued to the ‘Actors’ Equity Association’ for $11.50; an official one-page 8.5 x 13 release of contract letter from Warner Bros. Pictures, April 27, 1932, signed at the conclusion by Marian, then only 18 years of age, whose mother, Harriet Ann Krauth, signs below; and an official one-page 8 x 10.5 letter from the Frank Joyce-Myron Selznick talent agency, February 24, 1933, affirming the contractual release of Marsh, age 19, whose mother again signs below, as does Myron Selznick and Frank Joyce.
Includes a group of 10 original vintage photographs of Marsh, glossy and pearl finish, ranging in size from 10 x 8 to 8 x 10.25, depicting the lovely actress posing for a variety of film productions, the reverse of which bear affixed captions and credit stamps for studios and photographers like Elmer Fryer, Ray Jones, William A. Fraker, and A. L. Schafer. In overall very good to fine condition, with file holes and edgewear to the photos.
