Handwritten letter extending an invitation, in full: "Sir Walter Scott presents compliments to Mr. & Mrs. Furris and requests their attendance at dinner on Tuesday evening next at five o'clock." He adds a postscript below: "I intend calling on you tomorrow evening, if you can have the accounts ready you would greatly oblige me." In very good condition, with creasing, foxing, and multiple intersecting folds. Accompanied by an engraved portrait of the important author.
