Early vintage engineering contractor’s model of a Gemini spacecraft docked with the Agena Target Vehicle, measuring approximately 17.5″ in length and 4″ in diameter at the base of the capsule. This rare model shows what would eventually become the Gemini 8 spacecraft successfully joined with the Agena, which is comprised of the target docking adapter, forward auxiliary rack, forward and mid sections, propulsion systems, attitude control gas tanks, and the multi-start main engine. The two-piece model rests atop its original acrylic stand with wooden base that measures 20 x 4.5 x 1. In very good to fine condition, with a dent to the base of the Gemini capsule, scattered cracks and scuffs to paint, and the Agena engine detached but present.
