TLS signed "Jackie," one page, 5.75 x 7.75, personal letterhead, April 14, 1987. Kennedy sends thanks to Kimon Friar, an Athens professor. In part: "I remember so well your sending me a copy of your Contemporary Greek Poetry. I remember how moved I was by your poems and writing immediately to tell you so. I regret that the letter never reached you. It is wonderful to hear that The Post-war Period is to be published in an expanded form. I have been giving some thought to your reissuing your translation of Elytis and might suggest that you contact Farrar Straus or Ecco Press. I think either one would be worth a try. As far as the young Indian publisher is concerned, I cannot find anyone at Doubleday who remembers his name." Above her signature, Kennedy has added the complimentary closing: "With such admiration for your tireless energy and all the noble works you do." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope from Doubleday & Company, Inc. in New York City.
