Two TLSs from Rex Stout, both 8.5 x 11, The Author’s Guild, Inc. letterhead, dated to August 20 and 29, 1973, both addressed to poet Joel Oppenheimer. The earlier letter, in part: “Publication of THE WRONG SEASON, for the success and good fortune of which I offer best wishes on behalf of this Committee, has reminded me of the ill fortune of my letter to you of January 28, 1970, inviting you to join The Authors Guild and The Authors League of America.” The second letter, in part: “This is a special pleasure—sending you this warm welcome to our membership list. If our current efforts on copyright revision, tax laws, and book royalties are successful, and we think they will be, you’ll get your money’s worth.” In overall fine condition.
