Partly-printed vellum DS in French, signed “Lafayette,” one page, 11.5 x 10.5, July 20, 1790. Volunteer's certificate for the "Bataillon des Filles Saint-Thomas" of the "Infanterie Volontaire-Nationale," issued in the early stages of the French Revolution and signed at the conclusion in ink by the Marquis de Lafayette as commanding general. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, staining, and damage to the seal in the lower left corner.
