German medical scientist (1843-1910) regarded as the father of bacteriology. He isolated the tuberculosis bacillus and the anthrax virus, and received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1905. Untranslated ALS in German, signed “R. Koch,” one page, 4.5 x 7, no date. A brief handwritten letter from the eminent physician and microbiologist. A note in another hand to the lower portion is dated to November 16, 1891. In fine condition, with multiple intersecting folds.
