ALS signed “Charles,” seven pages on four sheets, 7.5 x 9.5, August 23, 2002. Handwritten letter to Robert M. Higdon of the Prince of Wales Foundation, corresponding on several separate points. In part: "(1) Duchy Originals—I am so grateful to you for pursuing this with Belinda and glad to hear progress is being made with Alec Cobbe on the design front (please don't let anything be decided without me approving the designs!)—and with dear Rose Marie…There is an increasingly good story to tell about Duchy Originals—which I believe is the secret of marketing!—and one of them is the 'virtuous cycle' approach I am trying to develop with organic raw materials, this 'killing two birds with one stone'—helping small farmer communities to become more 'sustainable' & making money for charity. The best example of this approach is in Guyana—the old British Guiana, in S. America—and we now have Amerindian communities producing organic cocoa from previously abandoned cocoa plantations. I can't help feeling that this sort of approach might go down well with the U.S. consumer if it is explained properly! (2) Andre's Diary—I am praying that the new CEO-designate of my Foundation at Shoreditch…will get things sorted out on this issue shortly after he arrives…(3) Steve Toms—I shall try to be patient!…(4) Integrated Medicine—I'm so glad this is going on in the U.S.A. & await results with interest!" In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
