Pen name of the colorful American poet, essayist, and fabulist Cincinnatus Heine (or Hiner) Miller (1841-1913), nicknamed the 'Poet of the Sierras.' Nice grouping of three ALSs by Joaquin Miller, including a two-page handwritten letter from 1887, a one-page handwritten letter from 1907, and a postcard. The highlight is the earliest letter, written from Oakland, which he emphatically opens with "I have settled here," twice underlining both "I" and "here." In overall fine condition, with a bit of mounting residue to one corner on the front of the postcard, and uniform fading to the postcard's writing.
