Beautiful hand-painted antique illuminated manuscript containing the vows of a Cistercian nun, Sister Rafaela Fernandez y Gonzalez, accomplished on an 18 x 24 vellum sheet. The ornate, beautifully rendered border is filled with flowers and portraits of Catholic saints. In very good condition, with overall creasing and an area of loss rendering the date indiscernible. A delightful antique 'folk art' curiosity brimming with religious imagery.
