Description

Norwegian explorer, scientist, diplomat, humanitarian, and Nobel laureate (1861-1930) who led the first crossing of the Greenland interior in 1888. ALS in German, one page, 5.75 x 8.25, September 27, 1929. Handwritten letter to Mrs. Gyömöres-Almares, in part (translated): "I just wish I could write an introduction to this interesting book; unfortunately, my time is so heavily burdened that it is impossible for me, which I very much regret. And it hurts me that I can't answer any other way." In very good to fine condition, with a repaired area of paper loss to the left edge, barely impinging on one word of text.
