Brundage, 1952-1972.” The bottom portion of the reverse is etched with Worrall’s IOC membership number, “57.” The edge is stamped “925.” Includes its original Mellerio presentation box, which is gilt-stamped on the cover, “M. James Worrall, 57.”
Brundage (1887-1975) was an American sports administrator who served as the fifth president of the International Olympic Committee from 1952 to 1972. The only American and only non-European to attain that position, Brundage is remembered as a zealous advocate of amateurism and for his involvement with the 1936 and 1972 Summer Olympics, both held in Germany.
From the estate of James Worrall.
