DS, nine pages, 8.5 x 13, December 14, 1945. Loew's Incorporated exclusive employment agreement by which the 13-year-old Elizabeth Taylor agrees to render "services as an actor in such roles and in such photoplays and/or other productions as the producer may designate," for a rate of $750 per week. The contract represents an initialed three-year period, followed by a pair of two-year options at a higher salary. Neatly signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Taylor and countersigned by a Loew's treasurer; also signed on the following consent page by her parents, Francis L. Taylor and Sara Sothern Taylor, on behalf of their minor child. In fine condition. Coming off the success of her first starring role, National Velvet, in 1944, MGM/Loew's inked the young Elizabeth Taylor to this seven-year deal. Her adolescence was largely controlled and cultivated by the studio, which transformed her into one of Hollywood's greatest stars.
