(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original production cels of Geppetto and Figaro from Pinocchio, depicting the kitten and his elderly owner fast asleep in their cozy bed. The cels have been trimmed and applied to an airbrushed background as prepared by Courvoisier Galleries for sale. Character images measure 5.5 x 5.25 (Geppetto) and 1.75 x 2.75 (Figaro), with a mat opening of 7.5″ in diameter. Triple-matted and framed to an overall size of 14.5 x 14.5. In fine condition, with unobtrusive areas of toned adhesive to cel edges, and some scuffs and marks to the frame. An excellent display piece from early in the film—the woodcarver would wake the next morning to realize that his wish came true and that Pinocchio was alive!
