(Walt Disney Studios, 1937) Original concept story drawing of Snow White and the seven dwarfs by Frank Follmer, which shows the original Disney princess standing on a hill with her dwarf friends: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey. Accomplished in graphite and white artist pencil on untrimmed 12 x 9 artist paper, which is signed in the lower right, "F. F.” In fine condition, with some slight toning to borders. Accompanied by a copy of a letter from Walt Disney Archives regarding Follmer's participation with the company. Follmer worked at Walt Disney Studios from the late 1930s through the early 1940s, assisting on projects like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. This attractive drawing was likely the inspiration for the film’s now iconic movie poster, which similarly depicts the seven dwarfs standing to the left and right of Snow White, who very subtly lifts the front of her dress.
