Scarce first-place winner’s pin from the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics. Made by Bertoni of Milan and issued to a gold medal-winning participant at the XVII Olympiad, the gold-tone pin features the Olympic rings above a banner with the contest year. Complete with its original paper backing marked as “7893” (which bears a slight crease) and its black vinyl presentation pouch made by Bertoni. The consignor notes that this pin was presented to a member of the Yugoslavian football (soccer) team that beat Denmark 3-1 in the gold medal match.
