ALS signed “Edward,” two pages both sides, 4.5 x 7, Marlborough House letterhead, April 19, 1907. Penned by the future king and Duke of Windsor at only 13 years of age, a handwritten letter to John Phillips, the Bishop of Thetford, in full: “I am very much obliged to you indeed for your congratulations on my having passed into Osborne. I am very pleased indeed that I have done so. I am also very much obliged to you for your kind wishes for my future.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. After nearly 13 years of tutorship, Edward took the examination to enter the Royal Naval College, Osborne, and began there in 1907.
