ALS from Joe Shuster who signs twice, penned on the reverse of a makeshift 8.5 x 5.5 postcard featuring a reproduction of a Superman comic strip drawing, April 5, 1976. Handwritten letter to Mrs. M. Gold, in full: “Thank you for your much appreciated letter. I am sending your son this reproduction of an original drawing created for Action Comic in 1938—but never published.” Shuster adds the adjacent address in his own hand and signs the image side in the left border: “Happy Birthday and Best wishes from the Artist-Creator of Superman, Joe Shuster.” In very good condition, with creasing, soiling, and staining. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
