Screen-used quarter-sawn tiger oak school hall bench from the 1994 Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump, highly visible when a young 'Forrest Gump' (played by Michael Conner Humphreys) sits straight-backed upon it outside the county school's office while his mother, 'Mrs. Gump' (Sally Field), and the principal (Sam Anderson) have a discussion about his schooling. The wooden bench features a bowed back with slats running the length of it, curved arms and cross bars on the side and back legs. Its unique wood grain positively matches on screen. The handsome bench measures 48″ x 35″ x 23″. Although Forrest Gump was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, it was not one of the six Oscars won by the film.
