Vintage fountain pen signature, "Yours sincerely, Winston S. Churchill,” on an off-white 8 x 2.5 slip, torn from the conclusion of a typed letter to historian G. M. Trevelyan pertaining to the "French Revolution." In fine condition. An interesting association piece, connecting two of the great history writers of the 20th century. Though best known for his exploits as the United Kingdom's wartime prime minister, Churchill was also an acclaimed author whose 'mastery of historical and biographical description' earned him the 1953 Nobel Prize in Literature. Churchill and Trevelyan were known to enjoy each other's works.
