Scarce U.S. promotional first pressing of the album Led Zeppelin II (Atlantic Records, SD 8236, Stereo), with the front cover bearing an affixed "Promotional Copy, Not for Sale" label, and the white disc labels on both sides marked "Sample Copy, Not for Sale.” Bottom of the labels read: “Mfg. by Atlantic Recording Group., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” The matrix and runout numbers, in part: “RL SS, W, ST-A-691671-B, LW, AT” and “RL SS, W, AT, ST-A-691672-C, LW.” In fine condition, with some edgewear. The record is included. The etched “RL” stands for Robert Ludwig, whose original mastering job was deemed too ‘hot’ for the best playback and his copies were soon pulled. A very rare DJ promo copy with an orange hype sticker featuring the classics ‘Heartbreaker,’ ‘Thank You,’ and ‘Whole Lotta Love.’
