American inventor and industrialist (1831-1897) best known for developing the first successful railroad sleeping car. Partly-printed DS, signed “Geo. M. Pullman,” one page, 16 x 10.5, July 15, 1876. Bond of the Pullman Southern Car Company in the amount of $500, prominently signed at the conclusion by Pullman as the company's president. The bond retains one of its twenty coupons at the bottom. In fine condition.
