Two early unsigned editions of A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess:
A first American edition, hardcover with dust jacket, published by W. W. Norton & Company in 1963, 6 x 8.75, 184 pages. Book condition: VG+/VG, with a few creases and tears to dust jacket.
A new American first edition, hardcover with dust jacket, published by W. W. Norton & Company in 1967, 6 x 8.75, 192 pages, which includes a new introduction by Burgess entitled “A Clockwork Orange Resucked,” and the original last chapter that was included with the first British edition but omitted from the first American edition. Book condition: VG+/VG, with a small tear and edgewear to dust jacket.
A sought-after dual offering of this classic dystopian title, which was immortalized when it was adapted for the big screen in 1971 by Stanley Kubrick.
