Description

American actor (1913-1978) who won the 1969 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his memorable role in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? Plagued by the 'Oscar curse' and increasingly acute alcoholism, Young killed himself and his fifth wife in a murder-suicide by gunshot just three weeks after their marriage. Handsome vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of the troubled actor, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Good luck Maxine, Gig Young.” In very good to fine condition, with staple holes at the corners, easily matted out.
