Description

DS as president, one page, 8 x 12.5, January 13, 1936. An official letter from President Roosevelt addressed to the Congress of the United States: “I enclose herewith a report which the Secretary of State has addressed to me in regard to claims of certain officers of the Foreign Service of the United States for reimbursement of losses sustained by them by reason of war and other causes, during or incident to their services in foreign countries. I recommend that an appropriation in the amount suggested by the Secretary of State be authorized in order to relieve these officers of the Government of the burden these losses have occasioned.” Signed boldly at the conclusion by Franklin D. Roosevelt. In very good to fine condition, with creasing along the left margin.
