I.,” one page, 5 x 9.25, Smithsonian Institution letterhead, August 29, 1871. Handwritten letter to Messrs. C. F. Zimmerman & Co. in New York, in full: "As soon as our Book-Keeper returns from a brief leave of absence it will give us pleasure to settle your a/c." In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, slight ink offsetting, and paper loss to the upper left corner.
