An appealing dark grayish purple double-row tambourine with a 10″ open head, bearing a printed "Love God" label on the handle in the style of Prince's handwriting. In fine condition, with heavy wear from use. Prince used this type of tambourine during the Purple Rain Tour in 1984-1985. The consignor notes that it originates from the collection of Susie Davis, a keyboard player in Sheila E.'s band who performed with Prince and the Revolution nightly during the encores on the Purple Rain Tour; accompanied by a document depicting the tambourine and reproducing Davis's journal entries from the first night she performed with Prince.
