Prince’s personally-owned and -worn two-piece gold sequin suit, comprising a long-sleeved top with short standing collar and a matching pair of bell-bottom pants. Both are made of a fine, sheer fabric decorated over the entirety with glimmering golden sequins. Gorgeous beaded epaulets decorate both shoulders of the shirt. In fine condition, with minor wear from use. A stunning, well-crafted, and iconic piece from Prince's wardrobe.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Jeff Lowe (of Tiger King fame), stating that he acquired the jacket in 2007 from Prince's ex-wife Mayte Garcia. In part: "In 2007 I purchased a very large collection of items that belonged to the musician Prince, from his ex wife Mayte Garcia. The collection included many pair of sunglasses, casual wear, stage clothing, footwear, belonging to Prince. Mayte was awarded the couple's villa in Spain, and Prince had left all these items in the home…Let it be known that this Gold Sequin 2 pc suit was worn by Prince on stage during his marriage to Mayte Garcia. Prince abandoned this suit in the closet of his mansion in Spain after his divorce."
