Rare original vintage glossy 10 x 8 contact sheet of outtakes from the controversial ‘butcher cover’ photo shoot for the 1966 Beatles album Yesterday and Today, containing 12 images of Paul McCartney holding a large ‘question mark’ sign that were taken by photographer Robert Whittaker on March 25, 1966. The session took place at a top-floor studio at 1 The Vale in Chelsea, London, a space itself rented out by another photographer named Oluf Nissen. Whitaker has cut out McCartney’s face from two of the frames, presumably to make a collage. In very good condition, with scattered creasing, two cuts to the right edge from removal of two of McCartney's missing facial images. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
