Description

Nature writer (1860-1946) who founded the modern school of animal fiction and helped found the Boy Scouts of America. Vintage ink signature and inscription, "To Dwight Raymond Meigs, with compliments of Ernest Thompson Seton, 27 Jan, 1900," on an off-white 4.75 x 6.5 sheet. Below and above his autograph, Thompson adds a small paw print and a sketch of a friendly bear cub, with Thompson writing, "This is Johnnie watching his mother chasing the 4 Bears,” In very good to fine condition, with moderately heavy irregular soiling.
