Pair of heavy-duty nylon parachute risers designed to safely lower reusable Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB). The pieces measure 17.5″ and 22″ in length and each feature a pair of cut strap ends. In overall fine condition. SRBs are lowered to the ocean for recovery by the deployment of three separate sets of parachutes. These parachutes are attached to the boosters by a series of risers made of heavy-duty nylon webbing. The parachutes are manufactured and refurbished for reuse at the Parachute Refurbishment Facility at the Kennedy Space Center.
