Description

Walt Cunningham’s bracket-bound portfolio containing various documents that he used in 'Guidance and Navigation' training for the Apollo 7 mission, 9 x 11.5, signed twice in ballpoint, “Walt Cunningham,” on the front cover "G&N" label and at the top of an Apollo Operations Handbook section, and then a third time on the opening memorandum sheet, stating: “From my personal collection—Walt Cunningham, Apollo 7.” The memorandum sheet, NASA-Manned Spacecraft Center, Mission Planning & Analysis Division, dated May 22, 1968, sent from “FM7/Guidance and Performance Branch/Guidance Analysis Section,” is annotated “G&N” and features the subject line: “The CMC short burn logic and its effect on the accuracy of short SPS burns.” The signed Apollo Operations Handbook section, “SM2A-03-Block II,” is for “Section 2,” which relates to Guidance and Control. The portfolio also includes the article “Navigation” by Gerald M. Levin, and sundry technical packets from the Apollo M.I.T. Instrumentation Laboratory, with a few pages bearing handwritten notations. The spine is marked in felt tip, "G & N." In fine condition.
