Flown spacecraft skin section from Gordon Cooper's Faith 7 capsule, which completed orbits of Earth during the Mercury-Atlas 9 mission on May 15-16, 1963. The thin skin fragment measures 1.25″ x .5″ and is encapsulated in acrylic, affixed to a 3.25″ x 3.5 x 1.5″ wooden mount with engraved identification plaque: "Actual skin from 'Faith 7,' MA-9, May 15-16, 1963, Astronaut Gordon Cooper, NASA, Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas."
