Founded by a group of WWI airmen, the 'Quiet Birdmen' is a secretive club for male aviators. The organization meets in various locations, never announced to the public, and members are accepted by invitation only. The group has counted such notable flyers as Buzz Aldrin, Richard E. Byrd, Gordon Cooper, Jimmy Doolittle, Charles Lindbergh, Eddie Rickenbacker, Wally Schirra, and Igor Sikorsky amongst its ranks.
From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
