Rare letter from the father of the Indian Renaissance

Indian reformer (1772-1833) who challenged traditional Hindu culture and first introduced the word Hinduism into the English language in 1816. LS signed "Rammohun Roy," one page, 7.25 x 9, June 6, 1832. Letter to Graves C. Haughton, Honorary Secretary of the Royal Asiatic Society. In full: "I am favored with your Letter of the 4th Instant, acquainting me that the Council of the Royal Asiatic Society have done me the honor to invite me to its Anniversary Dinner on the 15th Instant, and inclosing a card for the same. I beg to say that I will do myself the honor of dining with the Society on that occasion." In fine condition, with light staining along the left edge from old mounting remnants on the reverse.
