Description

English biologist and paleontologist (1804-1892) best known for interpreting fossils and coining the term 'dinosaur.' ALS, one page, 4.5 x 7, February 6, 1847. Handwritten letter to "Bailey," in part: "Our little friendly circle suffers much by your regretted absence; but I am chiefly grieved at the cause: you are too valuable—too unique a member of Society to be assailed by illness, without the concern of all." Affixed to a slightly larger sheet and in fine condition.
