Includes the original four-page agreement between Universal and Fox, dated August 31, 1936, with the latter agreeing to pay Universal $3750 per week for the “services of BORIS KARLOFF…for the role of ‘GRAVIN’ in the photoplay now entitled ‘CHARLIE CHAN AT THE OPERA.’” Signed at the conclusion by studio representatives. Also included is a bracket-bound document folder related to the contract and its various correspondences, with an opening document from August 6, 1936, reading: “The billing is to be as follows: WARNER OLAND VS BORIS KARLOFF in CHARLIE CHAN AT THE OPERA. The names of Warner Oland and Boris Karloff are to appear in the same size type.” In overall fine condition.
