Kentucky politician (1776-1859) who twice served as a United States Senator, and later became Secretary of the Treasury under James K. Polk. Free-franked mailing envelope, 8.5 x 3.5, addressed in another hand to "John H. Briscoe, Baltimore," and franked in the upper right, "Free, Geo. M. Bibb." In very good to fine condition, with scattered staining. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "NM-MT 8."
