Two DSs by the Massachusetts governors, both of whom served with distinction in the Civil War: a partly-printed DS signed "Benj. F. Butler," one page, 11 x 17, January 2, 1884, appointing Henry B. Martin as a notary public; and a partly-printed DS signed "Nath. P. Banks," one page, 10 x 15.5, May 15, 1858, appointing Nathan P. Martin as a notary public. In overall fine condition, with partial splits to folds on the Banks document.
