Canadian obstetrician (1883-1943) remembered for delivering and caring for the Dionne quintuplets, the first quintuplets known to survive early infancy. Two items: an original pencil sketch of the famous doctor by M. H. Herrin, accomplished on an off-white 9.25 x 12 sheet, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, "Allan Roy Dafoe"; and a TLS, one page, 8.25 x 11, The Dionne Quintuplet Guardianship letterhead, July 16, 1941, returning the sketch to the artist: "In reply to your letter of the 15th instant I have, autographed the sketch which you enclosed." In overall fine condition, with three file holes to the transmittal letter.
