The last Catholic monarch (1633-1701) to reign over the Kingdoms of England, Scotland, and Ireland, crowned in 1685. Hand-addressed mailing cover, measuring 8.75 x 6.25 open with a central panel of 3.5 x 2.5, addressed by King James II to his niece, "For my Niece the Countess of Litchfield." The upper panel retains the king's royal red wax seal. In fine condition, with light soiling.
