Desirable 10.25 x 14 limitation page for the Pablo Picasso illustrated book ‘Le Carmen des Carmen, 1949/1960,’ one page, 7.25 x 10.75, published in 1964 by Éditions Français Réunis of Paris, limited issue, numbered XVI/XXX, signed boldly at the conclusion in dark red crayon by cubist painter Pablo Picasso, “Picasso,” and countersigned in ballpoint by surrealist poet Louis Aragon, "Aragon."
The page reads (translated): “The present edition was printed in 275 copies of which: 245 on Arches, numbered from 1 to 245, comprising an original lithograph in colors and 4 original etchings, 25 copies of collaborators remaining out of commerce, and 30 copies on Japanese mother-of-pearl, with lithography and 5 original etchings, 4 of which have large margins, on Japon. These copies, 5 of which are for non-commercial collaborators, are numbered from I to XXX. All copies bear the signature of the artist and the author of the Print Finish. The 4 etchings with large margins of the master copies are also signed by the artist. No. XVI. Coppers and stones of the lithographs were scratched after printing.” In fine condition.
