Partly-printed DS, one page, 4.75 x 1.25, May 1772. Clipped document signed by "Caesar Rodney" as Justice of the Peace, adding several words in his own hand, "Henry Rash," "he," "is," "May," and "1772." The deed, as it originally read: "Personally appeared before me Caesar Rodney one of the Justices of the Peace for the County of Kent, on Delaware, the above-named Henry Rash and brought this Writing indented, which acknowledged to be his Deed, and desired that the fame may be recorded according to an Act of Assembly of this Government, in that Behalf lately made and provided: As Witness my Hand and Seal, the twenty eighth Day of May Anno Domini 1772." Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet. In fine condition, with trimmed edges.
