ALS as president, one page, 7.75 x 10, December 26, 1850. Handwritten letter from Washington, in full: "I have but a moment to acknowledge the receipt of yours of the 21st with the bill of your committees. I think the arrangement an excellent one. But unfortunately, I can do nothing towards carrying it out. I receive no public documents. They are printed for the members, not for me. But I will send the list and letter to Judge Hall; and he may make some arrangement with some of our friends in Congress to send the documents." In very good to fine condition, with some creasing and light toning.
