American politician (1760-1833) who succeeded Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury under Washington and Adams, and went on to serve as governor of Connecticut. Hand-addressed mailing envelope, 4.5 x 3.25, filled out by Oliver Wolcott, Jr., who addresses the envelope to “Hon’ble Jeremiah Wadsworth, Esq., Hartford, Connecticut,” and adds his franking signature to the lower left, “Free, Oliv. Wolcott, Jr.” In fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder, grading the autograph as "NM-MT 8."
