Flown fabric National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) flag, 5.5 x 3.75, carried for four days during the STS-26 mission. The flag is affixed to its original color 11 x 14 certificate, which reads: "Presented to Richard S. King. This National Aeronautics and Space Administration flag was flown aboard the Orbiter 'Discovery,' STS-26, September 29-October 3, 1988, commemorating the National Space Transportation System 'Return to Flight.'" Lower portion bears facsimile signatures. In very good to fine condition, with dampstaining and rippling affecting only the mount, not the flag. Richard Sinclair King, known as ‘Dickey,’ worked as a mathematician at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for 35 years.
